Monoprint 2.0

I decided to do one last monoprint. It was a really simple one but I like how it turned out. The red was kind of a reflection of the love and affection that the figures are showing through the embrace.
Here it is.

See Below.

We had a little mini project to do with clutter, so I just walked around my house and sure enough, there was some there. We could take a max of 4 photos and no cropping or editing was allowed.

So I chose this on below because I liked the items in the picture.

I decided that I wanted to do a few different ones and change up the colour of each of them. I really liked how they turned out :)

Drypoints : 2.0

Here they are and I really love them. I did them in a variety of different colours, cold and warm, and I found that the cold colours were sharper but the warm colours reflected the affection of the embrace. Either way, I think they came out really well and I'm really happy with them.

I also did one last monoprint, just to see how it would turn out and it wasn't as good as I wanted it to be but making mistakes is important so I'll not make those ones again.

Drypoint

So I really enjoyed doing this one. the most important thing I found was that you had to keep the light shining correctly so that you could see the image underneath the acetate, but also so that you could see the line that you were scratching. I found that it was easy to get into a rhythm, and before I knew it it was done! I don't have pictures of the final prints because they're still drying but I do have one of the acetate itself.

Photographing some Hugs.

My lovely girlies and boyfriend agreed to help me with my project by taking some pictures. I took pictures of the two women in different kinds of embraces, and they took pictures with me and himself. what I like about them was the height difference and the different positions.

Okay, we're on the right track.

Well, I was having a bit of trouble with my project, like where to start and that, but I had a good talk with my tutor and he suggested that I focus on the arms, the part of the body that does the embracing and how they cross over and all that, so he helped me get started and we did a few lovely prints.

2nd Elective : Print. YEAHHHHHH BUDDY!

So, I'm in Print at the moment and I'm really enjoying it. I always kind of knew it was for me, when I got into it properly this semester, as opposed to dabbling in it like I did in the first semester. Our project brief is on Space, how you occupy it and the space around you. I did a few little sketches on
the things around me and that are personal to me.

So I think I'm going to go with the idea of Personal Space, how you let someone into it, and I'll represent it with a hug/embrace.
